'Remedy' was designed by Jim Donovan (formerly of Farr Intl.) for competition under the MORC rule. Built by New England Boat Works in 2000, she went on to win the 2002 MORC Internationals and amass a very successful PHRF record. ‘Remedy’ is a light-air performer, optimized for typical Chesapeake Bay summer conditions (under 10 knots and chop). This design can be rated favorably under both ORC and IRC Rules.
The hull is constructed of vacuum-bagged E-glass and epoxy resin over a foam core. The fractional carbon fiber rig is stayed with double-spreaders and rod rigging. The boat is powered by a 20 horsepower Yanmar Diesel Engine.
‘Remedy’ will convey with a custom-bunk trailer, all racing equipment, safety equipment and an extensive inventory of racing sails (3 mains, 7 headsails and 11 spinnakers).
