In the early 2000's, Waterline Systems completed full restorations of a few J24s. They would take out the deck, sole, ribs, and bulkheads, replacing them with a single piece made from a mold. This essentially made older boats new again. In the end, they couldn't charge enough to make it worth it.
USA 2784 was purchased in December of 2003 from Waterline after a complete restoration. For the next ten years, it was sailed almost exclusively on summer Wednesday nights in Huntington Bay on Long Island in light air; always dry-sailed. The owner began moving a business to FL in 2014, and the boat has not been sailed in over two years. It is time to sell.
This is a great opportunity to buy a good boat with low mileage since being completely rebuilt in 2003. Boat also comes with a 2003 Triad trailer; single-axle with two spare tires. Brakes and bearings were serviced annually until 2014.
Sail Inventory / Rigging
We are selling with one full set of serviceable sails. They are more than adequate for local/weeknight racing, or day-sailing. To be at the front of a national fleet, you'll be buying new sails with any boat.
Spars and standing rigging were all new with the restoration in 2003. Spinnaker pole is carbon fiber.
