With an extensive racing pedigree and the trophies to prove it, this versatile inshore and offshore flyer was launched in 2007 as Beau Geste, then acquired in 2008 by the current owner, who went on to win 3 Transpac titles and 2 Cabo San Lucas Race titles.

This is a completely turnkey - ready to go - racing yacht, that includes all ORC Cat 1 safety gear, crew support supplies, a work trailer with integrated storage work bench and sail stowage, and extensive spares.

Now on the market after a major retrofit in 2014, she is completely fitted out for short and long haul racing. Drawn by the Internationally acclaimed Reichel Pugh design team and built at Hakes Marine in New Zealand, this is one of the most competitive yachts in the world in this size range.

The boat is currently on the hard in Richmond California, the boat went thru a major refit in 2014, engine removed and entire system overhauled including prop drop down box reworked with all new bearings. In 2012 the bulb and fin were removed, a new kelp cutter installed and the fin re templated.

A lifelong sailor, Tom Sitzmann brings a broad range of sailing experience to Sail1Design. Tom has a great deal of dinghy and PHRF racing experience, competing successfully in the Laser, J/24, and J/22, winning several regional and district championships in those classes, both in New England and the Mid-Atlantic. While in Maine Tom also won several PHRF regattas aboard his J/24 & J/33, and more recently in his J/120.
Also a lifelong educator, Tom has coached sailing and directed sailing programs from Maine to Annapolis, and was an assistant offshore & dinghy coach at the USNA, head intercollegiate coach at Bowdoin College, and currently head coach at Severn School, where he guided the team to a National championship, the first and only Chesapeake Bay school ever to win the prestigious Mallory Trophy.
Tom ‘s offshore experience includes many distance races in New England, a transatlantic passage, a celestially-guided Marion-Bermuda Race, and most recently he brought his family to Bermuda aboard their J/120 Airwaves.
